THIS WEEK’S DEAR JOHN LETTER!
(COMMENTS ARE WELCOME)
I’m not sure how to tell my parents this, but I’m not going to college. They think I’m going to start classes soon, but I decided not to follow through with college because I have a job I really like. They have been so excited that I’m going to be the first person in my family to go to college, so I’m afraid to tell them. How should I go about this? I already worked with the school and have been able to get out of the student loans that I was approved for. This will not cost my family anything. My scholarships were not very big but I let them go too. I found something I enjoy and plan to make a living doing this. I don’t need a degree to be happy, but how do I break the news to my parents? I feel bad that I let it go several months already. Any ideas?
